The Galactic Federation's Purpose

You might have heard a lot about the Galactic Federation from many different sources. Who is in it, the various councils that perform different types of duties, messages that parties in the GF have for Earth, etc. etc.   

But let's ask a more fundamental question: what is the overarching purpose of all this activity emanating from the GF? 

In this article, we'll answer this question by discussing the primary function of the Galactic Federation as a multi-planetary organization. Read on, as it might not be what you think.

The Main Function of the GF is... 

To be the organizing body and place for exchanges amongst different types of lifeforms to take place. That's it. It's as simple as that.

Now, let's think a bit more about what this means: 

1. The GF is first and foremost a forum

Yes, where you gather and meet other people (or beings)! Meeting and communicating are a huge part of why the GF exists. Being a platform for exchanging, talking, and sharing knowledge is the key function of the GF.

2. The GF does not have any specific agendas (i.e. it is not for-this or against-that)

On Earth, we tend to think of organizations as groups that come together to work actively towards certain goals or promote causes. For example, Earth's United Nations has a laundry list of things it thinks are 'good things' that it tries to promote (protect human rights, sustainable development, uphold international law, climate action, etc.).

This is not the case with the Galactic Federation, which does not promote any pan-galactic cause. Rather, it exists simply to enable and facilitate inter-planetary and multi-species connection.

3. Any technical-cooperation projects that the GF undertakes align to the overall goal of promoting inter-planetary exchanges

There are committees and councils in the GF that work on different types of projects. The bridge committee of the GF, which maintains the GF's Inter-Planetary Portal Network, is one such example. The Committee for Star Mapping is another example. 

What unites all these committees is that the projects they undertake all promote greater collaboration, mutual understanding, and sharing of information amongst the different star races in the galaxy.   

4. No, the GF does not 'rule over' the cosmos   

And for sure the GF does not try to dominate or impose rules on the cosmos! As mentioned above, the GF is primarily a forum with no pan-galactic agenda. This includes not having any pan-galactic agenda to rule or organize the cosmos in any way, shape or form. 

In short, the main purpose of the Galactic Federation is to be an organizing collective whereby all kinds of beings on different planets can connect, talk, and exchange knowledge and wisdom. It might sound mundane, but this is actually very important for fostering a greater sense of connection and oneness in a galaxy of extremely diverse beings.
